countdown ’til christmas
Friday, December 23, 2005two days til christmas and yet, i still don’t feel the warmth and joy that this holiday brings. i mean, if it weren’t for the decorations, parties, and the fact that it’s pretty damn cold whenever you wake up the mornings, i would probably just disregard today as if it were just like any ordinary day. i really don’t know why but it seems like christmas isn’t as “special” as it used to be…
when we were kids, we would look forward to celebrating christmas as early as May or June (mostly because of the long christmas break.. hehe…). it’s almost as special as celebrating your birthday where you anticipate everything - the food, the lights, the sounds, and, last but DEFINITELY not the least, THE GIFTS!! as children, we try so hard to be on our best behavior so that santa would visit our home to grant us our special request. we also try to suck up to our ninongs and ninangs in order to get aguinaldos from them. we even perform to our hearts content during family reunions not because we’re gonna get something out of it but because we simply love doing it. but now, it’s nothing more but a distant memory, some of which, looking back, is actually kind of embarrasing (”)o(”) but you have to admit, IT WAS FUN!! and it actually got me thinking - is christmas nothing more but a holiday meant specially for children? i mean, it seems like they’re really the only ones looking forward to it. i don’t know, maybe it’s just me.. or maybe other feel it as well.. it’s just that before christmas eve, i just want it to feel like christmas.. that is all.
Meticulous to the bone paying attention to the nitty-gritty details of anything (or anyone) that piques his interest. He's terribly O.C. when he feels like it and other times he just leaves the mess as it is.
